Traffic around Columbia’s Golden Corral on Clark lane was packed all weekend for the restaurant’s reopening, with diners waiting more than 90 minutes at times for a table.
Restaurant patrons were literally lined up out the door for much of the weekend, as Golden Corral reopened after being closed 18 months due to a devastating New Year’s Eve 2022 blaze. That fire caused approximately $250,000 in damage, including heavy roof damage. There were no injuries during the blaze.
939 the Eagle was outside the Golden Corral on Saturday evening, where people were lined up out the door to get in. Restaurant employees told diners it would be at least a 90-minute wait. Golden Corral is popular for its food, including its breakfast offerings. It’s also a very popular spot for Thanksgiving lunch for families.
