Weather has delayed Tuesday’s plans to remove the old railroad tracks from Columbia’s Business Loop near the power plant.
The two-day project was originally scheduled to start this morning, but Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) officials say the work will now begin at 6 o’clock Wednesday morning and finish by 5 pm on Thursday.
MoDOT is partnering with the city of Columbia to make the drive on the Business Loop smoother for you. They’ll be removing the railroad tracks, which are no longer in use. Some motorists have complained to 939 the Eagle about the impact of the railroad tracks on their vehicles. MoDOT will be placing concrete pavement in that area and resurfacing the busy road.
