A Harrisburg student is the 2024 Boone County fair queen.
Vivian Eaton was crowned Tuesday night at the Boone County fair pageant. This year’s teen queen is Battle high school student Addyson Aldridge, and the princess is Ava Chavin of Columbia. Our Zimmer colleague Scotty Cox from Clear-99 served at your emcee last night.
The fair continues this evening at 5, and the baby contest and little Mr. and Miss contest is at 6 pm. The carnival will be open from 6-10 pm.
State transportation officials are reminding you to give yourself extra time to get to the fair. The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) has closed Highway 63’s northbound and southbound passing lane from Route B to Highway 763. The fair continues through Saturday and tickets are $15 through Friday and $20 on Saturday, with children six and under a free and veterans free as well, courtesy of the Columbia-based Veterans United Foundation.
One of the most popular fair events is the ham breakfast, which is Saturday morning at 8. Just Jeff’s is catering the breakfast again this year.
