Alyssa Bustamante was denied parole earlier this month. She was 15 years old in 2009 when she stabbed nine-year-old Elizabeth Olten to death and buried her in a woods outside their homes near St. Martins in Cole County. She plead guilty to second-degree murder and was sentenced to life in prison. Under Missouri law, some juvenile offenders can become eligible for parole after serving 15 years. But at a parole hearing July 8, Bustamante was denied an early release. Her next parole hearing is scheduled for 2029.
