The superintendent in the fast-growing Southern Boone R-1 school district in Ashland predicts Ranken Technical College’s new Ashland campus will be a game-changer for young people across the region.
Southern Boone R-1 superintendent Dr. Tim Roth spoke at the recent ribbon-cutting ceremony.
“This workforce development center has been a collaborative partnership between Ranken Technical College, (the) mid-Missouri Regional Planning Commission, the city of Ashland and our fine Southern Boone School District,” Dr. Roth says.

“This new center represents the culmination of hard work, innovative thinking and a shared vision for creating pathways that connect education to industry, equipping our students with the skills they need to succeed in the workforce of tomorrow,” says Dr. Roth.
Ranken officials emphasize the new facility will be industry-driven. Ranken’s Ashland campus will focus on construction, IT, nursing and manufacturing, and Ranken president Don Pohl says they could expand their programming in the future.
